Well my goodness this has been a busy day.
First news broke that - without any hint, foreshadowing or rumors it was coming now - Department of Justice Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz dropped a massive thunderbolt of a surprise report that kicked the DOJ, the FBI and Director Christopher Wray right in the nuts.
“Hey Mike, what’s new?” “You’ll find out, Chris.”
If you’ll recall, Horowitz had released a long-awaited report on abuse of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants back in December of 2019.
The Mueller Special Counsel had ended with a whimper earlier that year in March. The last vestiges of hope that the Trump/Russia collusion hoax would take down President Donald J. Trump died that April, when the Mueller Final Report was issued amid loud grumbling and gnashing of teeth from the Fake News Media.
The month of May began with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s departure from the DOJ, an event that was almost immediately followed by the public unveiling of **that other investigator** that he’d been running in secret while everybody was obsessively following every fake leak in the fake news media about the Mueller Special Counsel.
The evidence had already emerged by May of 2019 that a spy warrant was somehow granted by the FISA Court targeting former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor Carter W. Page even though the “evidence” in the warrant was based on the infamous Steele Dossier. The mainstream media had fought such an admission tooth and claw for two years, relentlessly pounding a narrative that little if any of the dossier was used in the Page warrant, but by May 2019 pretty much everybody was done arguing about it.
It was clear by the time Durham was brought out into the light that something unprecedented and massively scandalous had happened. One campaign in the 2016 election had managed to successfully get it’s rival campaign investigated and spied on by the feds based on fake evidence peddled to the FBI through private political operatives.
Now if you were following me on Twitter back in 2019/2020 and reading my columns at The Epoch Times & Uncover DC, then you are aware that Durham didn’t **really** begin investigating Spygate in May of 2019. You would know he actually was tapped by someone - presumably either Rod Rosenstein or Dana Boente - to begin investigating the Spygate leakers back in April of 2017, just over two years before Barr dramatically brought him out in front of the press and went “Behold the man!”
What Horowitz’s FISA Abuse report did when it dropped that December was that it demonstrated beyond all doubt there were serious issues with the FISA surveillance warrant system in this country. There were supposed to be stringent safeguards in place to prevent exactly the kind of thing that is now proven to have happened in the case of Carter Page: a U.S. citizen got spied on - and all his associates in Trump campaign also got spied on - via what can only be described as deliberate fraud.
While the Fake News media tries to downplay what happened with the Steele Dossier and that Carter Page warrant, I don’t think they’re going to have much success at that, because I’m pretty sure where Durham is going, now that I’ve had a look at the latest report from Horowitz.
It turns out Clinton political operatives working in coordination with corrupt officials at the FBI & DOJ to spy on the Trump campaign prior to the 2016 election ends up ripping the lid off of a massive national security scandal. Because when Horowitz went digging into how this farce could possibly happen, he ended up discovering that Carter Page was **far** from the only U.S. citizen who’s civil rights were grossly violated.
In his new report, Horowitz shows that in 7,000+ FISA warrants granted from January 2015 all the way through March of 2020, in 179 instances - one of which is no doubt the Page warrant - the required Wood Procedures files were either missing or only in a partial and unsatisfactory condition.
American citizens had been told for many years that the federal government had to jump through some pretty stringent hoops in order to get approval to spy on them. And yet it was apparent even from Horowitz’s earlier December 2019 report that quite a number of warrants were being granted by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court [FISC] that simply did not meet the required standards.
The 2019 report was bad enough in what it revealed. This new report from Horowitz is ten times as damning. If all proper procedures were being followed at the DOJ and the FBI and the FISC, there is no possible way 179 warrants granted by the FISC can be found to have no real evidentiary basis.
The number of FISA applications that the entire system is supposedly wired to pass if it does not meet the stringent evidence requirements of the Woods Procedures is ZERO. It is a massive national scandal that 179 insufficiently sourced warrants ended up being granted and I’ll explain why.
An Unprecedented National Security Breach
I've been saying for the past five years when it comes to discussing the SpyGate scandal, far too many people do not grasp the true scope of it. One fraud spy warrant granted on Carter Page led to an entire presidential campaign being spied on. And then a presidential transition team being spied on. And then a presidential administration once it had assumed office being spied on. It's never been just "Carter Page". It's Carter Page and A COUPLE HUNDRED OTHER PEOPLE that ended up under surveillance due to that one single fraudulent warrant.
Now, go from that single warrant on Carter Page and ADD IN 178 MORE spy warrants on other US citizens that never should have been granted. Every single one of those warrants is a portal window into the lives of all the people surrounding the target. Starting to get the picture?
Horowitz’s job as an Inspector General is just to expose all of this. He can only refer people for prosecution. He can’t prosecute anyone for this stuff himself.
That’s where Durham comes in. Durham’s job is to assess if any criminal charges can be brought against the people engaged in all this rampant corruption.
Special Counsel Durham isn’t running an ordinary criminal investigation here. He’s running an investigation into one of the biggest national security breaches ever. Rogue elements within the federal government spied on a presidential campaign, then sought to undermine and sabotage it once it had assumed office. To do this they shredded every single safeguard that was supposed to prevent the politicization of federal law enforcement and intelligence powers. Anybody who tells you this is just another criminal investigation being handled by a U.S. Attorney is being gullible.
Now on top of that, add in thousands of Americans who were having their civil rights violated due to warrants being granted to spy on them with little or no evidence at all.
I’m convinced at this point Durham is the top manager of a massive national security enterprise and he has probably a dozen US Attorneys and people from other agencies working under him as a conspiracy that spanned the DOJ, the FBI, the State Department, the CIA, the Clinton campaign/foundation, Perkins Coie, Fusion GPS, and a couple of overseas intelligence services is being exposed and dealt with.
While I had started this column more Durham news broke: he has issued a new round of subpoenas targeting Perkins Coie, which means once again targets of the Durham probe are running to the corporate press looking to defensively spin this and get out ahead of what’s coming and launch their narrative first.
It’s starting to look like Horowitz had to hold that major follow up to his earlier FISA Abuse report until he got the all clear signal from Durham.
Recall from the timeline I established above that Horowitz released that report in December of 2019, after Durham had already started his criminal investigation into FISA issues surrounding the Steele Dossier. It appears that while Durham was still investigating the FISA issues himself, Horowitz didn’t release any more evidence and held it instead.
That means the moment then-AG William Barr publicly rolled Durham out and tapped him as "The SpyGate Guy" who would lead a criminal investigation to see if anybody could be charged for any of this, Horowitz had to hit the 'pause' button on releasing any further evidence his office was currently holding or later found until Durham had finished that part of his probe.
Well something must have happened recently to cause Horowitz to hit ‘play’ and release this report now. My speculation would be that Durham communicated to him that there was no longer any conflict with releasing anything in this new report.
I don’t think it’s mere coincidence that the very same day Horowitz drops this report the targets of Durham’s investigation are furiously leaking to their media allies about new subpoenas they’ve just received from the Special Counsel’s Office.
Folks, October is going to be lit.
And you can quote me on that.
Brian… Hmm. I thought you said Durham has been issuing subpoenas secretly for last 1-2 years? And that they fought tooth and nail but lost to Durham?
So after 25months Durham gets around to subpoena phase??
Welcome to Substack Brian! I have been reading your analysis since your Stealth Jeff days!
Cheers!
