Why Are People Taught To Eat A Toxic Diet 'In Moderation'?
A Little Bit of Toxic Poison Still Goes a Long Way To Wrecking Your Health
Recently, I came across this post on X.com by Dr. Robert Lufkin:
The insights shared by Dr. Robert Lufkin in his post on X.com are of utmost importance and should be disseminated across the entire country.
Many people have been lulled into thinking that following the Standard American Diet in ‘moderation’, where they ‘limit their consumption of white refined sugar,’ is all they need to do to be healthy.
That’s not true. At all.
According to the presently known nutritional science, what ESSENTIAL CARBOHYDRATES should a person eat daily?
Well...there aren't any.
As author Daniel Trevor discusses at length in his excellent book Unholy Trinity, there is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate.
There is a book that is considered by many in mainstream nutrition to be their standard-bearer called “Modern Nutrition in Health and Disease.” Its current 11th edition features the work of more than 190 expert authors and is 1,616 pages long.
In it, there is a section that states:
“The currently established human essential nutrients are water, energy, amino acids (histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine), essential fatty acids (linoleic and α-linolenic acids), vitamins (ascorbic acid, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, pantothenic acid, folic acid, biotin, and vitamin B-12), minerals (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and iron), trace minerals (zinc, copper, manganese, iodine, selenium, molybdenum, and chromium), electrolytes (sodium, potassium, and chloride), and ultra-trace minerals.”
Note the complete absence of carbohydrates from this list of essential nutrients for humans.
And the following quote is from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine:
“The lower limit of dietary carbohydrate compatible with life apparently is zero, provided that adequate amounts of protein and fat are consumed.”
Carbohydrates do not need to be consumed by humans as long as, per the above quote–“adequate amounts of protein and fat are consumed”–because the liver has a natural mechanism called gluconeogenesis which creates glycogen for use by the body.
Gluconeogenesis: gluco (sugar) neo (new) genesis (beginning or birth). In other words, our liver makes any glycogen (blood sugar) we may need.
Our diet consisted mainly of animal protein and fat for millions of years, and our liver provided the gluconeogenesis process for us when necessary.

Since the human body can't create its own amino acids, we need dietary protein quite often.
It so happens that we also need dietary fat frequently since our body cannot manufacture its own cholesterol to create hormones like testosterone or estrogen.
In contrast to the protein and fat macronutrients, you can go a very, very long time without eating carbs since—and I know this will surprise some of you—your body can create its own glucose via this really neat process called Gluconeogenesis.

So the reason there aren't any essential carbohydrates like there are essential daily protein/fat requirements is that your body can make its own glucose. Pretty cool, eh?
It can't make its own amino acids or fatty acids, but it can produce glucose. So while we do need to eat protein and fat very often, there is no health requirement to eat carbs with any real frequency.
I'm very well aware of this because I've been following a Carnivore diet for over a year now and lost over 100 pounds of excess body fat.
I did that by getting my body consistently into a state known as KETOSIS.

Being in ketosis is awesome because by keeping your carbs down to a very low level, you force your body to do that one thing it never ever wants to do: burn its precious stored body fat for its daily fuel.
Which it will only reluctantly do if it cannot find enough carbs in the daily diet for its energy.
I realize this can sound scary to some people, switching your body from getting energy daily from ketones from your stored fat being broken up instead of the glucose from daily ingested carbs.
But there's nothing unhealthy going on here. Millions of people who've made the switch from powering their body with glucose to powering it with ketones from their body fat being broken up and utilized for fuel are doing just fine. There's nothing wrong with them.
In fact, many of these people are reversing chronic illnesses, maladies, and diseases they were told were incurable and 'genetic' by doing this. It turns out this stuff was directly tied to their daily diet, and once they changed it, their health also dramatically improved.
People are getting HEALTHIER by vastly reducing their carb intake. Which means ditching the ultra-processed foods our culture is awash in.
Surprisingly enough, the established medical community has a problem with people doing this, pursuing a 'strange' and 'unhealthy' diet that is curing their metabolic illnesses and diseases without using the proper approved drugs or surgical interventions.
Many of the benefits of a very low-carb diet are that pursuing such a diet leads to eschewing ultra-processed fake foods made from seed oils, refined sugars, GMO corn, wheat, soy, and the multitude of toxic chemicals, additives, and dyes that our FDA currently allows corporations to inject into our food supply, which is illegal in much of the rest of the world.
The same food our own FDA and science/health mavens have spent decades insisting is 'perfectly fine to eat, in moderation!' Go figure.
One thing it's **insanely easy** to overdose on daily on the Standard American Diet [SAD] is carbs. This is why around 80% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy and over 65% are obese. They didn't get that way because they ate too much protein or animal fat.
We are being poisoned by a toxic food supply that is enormously out of balance. People are ingesting massive amounts of carbs every day from all kinds of different sources while not getting nearly enough protein/fat.
The same medical/health agencies, both private and federal government that deliberately misled the public on a vast slew of issues related to the recent pandemic are still somehow, by some strange circumstance, still implicitly trusted by much of the public on the issue of what comprises a healthy diet.
Strangely enough, as our country got sicker and more unhealthy and chronically ill over the past couple of decades, and Big Pharma and Big Fake Food made massive bank on selling unhealthy food & drugs to counteract the growing metabolic illnesses, no one in our medical/health agencies declared a national emergency. No alarm was sounded.
Why didn't they sound any alarm? Why is RFK Jr. having to come out at this late date and launch MAHA with President Donald J. Trump? Why didn't someone like Dr. Anthony Fauci or Francis Collins at the NIH do that years ago? Nobody in the government is aware of these things?
I would submit that not only were they aware of it, they were deliberately hiding it from the country, how unhealthy it has become.
Everybody was making money. Everything was fine...as far as they were concerned.
I would suggest when people have vested interests in continuing the present vastly unhealthy situation, they lull you to sleep by saying stupid shit like, "Just eat this toxic food in moderation, then take these drugs to fix your high blood pressure, take this Ozempic shot to fix your obesity/diabetes, get your cholesterol down by taking this statin!"
And the band plays on...and they all keep making their blood money.
