The Rise of the New News Media
1. Andrew Breitbart was one of the first to recognize America needed a new news media
Fearlessly called out the threat of the six-corporation-owned Fake News Media
Stressed how an accurately informed electorate was essential to the survival of America as a constitutional republic
Clearly saw the danger of a mass media designed by political interests to sedate and misinform the public, propagandizing citizens into ceding control to a supposed “elite” class.
“That’s a great idea! YOU WRITE IT!”
Untimely death in March of 2012. Only 43 years old. But he made a huge impact. Inspired so many to get involved.
The new media was growing and starting on it’s journey when Andrew left.
Trump running for President and winning caused the new media to have to grow up in a hurry.
2. SpyGate hastened the rise of the new media
Even before Donald J. Trump assumed office after unexpectedly winning the 2016 Presidential election, the scandal now known as SpyGate had already begun to emerge.
There were rumblings of surveillance, a sudden move of the Trump transition team from Trump Tower to Trump’s golf resort in Bedminster, among other early signs. [Beg for his job]
Then came the criminal leak of classified information to the Washington Post’s David Ignatius on January 11, 2017 that hung a target on the back of Trump’s incoming National Security Advisor, General Michael Flynn for supposedly violating The Logan Act. [Biden suggested using the Logan Act, how fast it took shape.]
It wasn’t long before the FBI was sending agents to the White House to interview Flynn and then inventing a false statement charge against him that involved strange and highly edited 302 forms.
Steele Dossier goes public [Tapper/Ben Smith, the leak strategy Buzzfeed ruined]. Comey firing, memo leaks, Special Counsel
3. This New Scandal Dwarfed Watergate
It not only dwarfs Watergate, it dwarfs every US political scandal that came before it.
Watergate was failed spying. SpyGate was successful spying. That’s why SpyGate is Watergate x 1,000.
4. The Corporate Media Dereliction of Public Duty
And yet instead of covering the emerging scandal, the mainstream media leaped to help cover it up and push the Trump/Russia hoaxes.
Would helping to expose SpyGate get rid of Trump? Of course not. Their chance to get Trump out of the White House as quickly as possible lies with promoting the fake Trump/Russia scandals. Which is what they did.
Patrick Davis = what can we help you cover up today?
As years of relentless and sometimes vicious gaslighting unfolded, ordinary citizens were moved to rise up and take action.
The Rise of the Twitter researchers and investigators
While Mainstream media outlets with hundred million dollar yearly budgets and a stable of investigative reporters on staff with expense budgets in the hundreds of thousands of dollars ignored the biggest story in US history staring them right in the face, it was a dedicated group of citizen journalists on Twitter who dug in and began breaking stories and finding evidence.
Me, Tracy BEANZ, Harold Wren, Thomas Wictor, Fool Nelson, Sundance, Walkafrye, Jeff Carlson, Techno Fog, Undercover Huber, Galactic Red Pill, and more. We spent hours sharing our research with each other, bouncing our theories around, sharing our lives with each other.
The one thing I miss about Twitter. I miss my friends from the old research room and from private DM’s.
Hours of shared research and theory testing would lead to long public Twitter threads.
We didn’t have to go looking for an audience. People found US.
5. The Rise of the New Media
I think we ended up starting to build something on Twitter without even realizing it at first.
In a world filled with lies, the truth shines in the darkness. And those who are seeking it will find it.
We were shining in the darkness, and people saw the light.
“If you build it, they will come.”
And they did. And they’re still coming. There are more coming every day.
Jeff Carlson and me were invited to become regular columnists at The Epoch Times. Tracy grew her Dark To Light radio show and launched Uncover DC. [I thought she was starting a blog]
Tracy had 290,000 followers on Twitter when they they threw her off. I had a mere 275,000.
After being sidetracked for two years by becoming involved with a vanity social media app project run by a guy with a made up fantasy heritage and biography, I moved full-time to Telegram and in a year have gained over 105,000 followers there. SO FAR.
But I know why this is happening and I don’t have any narcissistic illusions about being special or being some kind of genius.
People find me and Tracy and Jon and Dave and L and Kate and Patrick and all these other people who make up the new media because they are hungry for something, something they need and are seeking with their hearts. They want THE TRUTH.
People are coming to the new media because they are tired of being lied to, manipulated, controlled and marginalized by the old media.
We in the new media are being entrusted with something precious by these people, and we have to fulfill our responsibilities to our audience with the utmost seriousness. We have to call out those on our own side playing games with that trust. It’s not fun but it’s a key and important part of our job. [‘I just want to do the fun stuff, not the hard stuff!’ attitude is wrong]
We have hold ourselves to the highest standards and admit it and make corrections when we fail or get something wrong. And we must zealously guard the trust that has been given to us, often by people who still wounded and trying to find their bearings after waking up and discovering they have been lied to and betrayed on a very deep and personal level.
May You Live In Interesting Times
The events of these last two years have especially woken up many people. And when they first wake, it can be a terrible shock.
What do you do when governments, and News media and doctors and medical agencies, and major corporations and the universities are all found to have abused and exploited you? Banks and payment processors and social media apps and streaming services suddenly slam their doors in your face? What do you do when all the institutions of your own society have betrayed you and are closing their doors to you?
My suggestion is this: abandon the old institutions and roll up your sleeves and make your own new institutions.
Yes, we all know they were mocking us 4-5 years ago when they sneered “If you don’t like how Twitter is run, why don’t you just go and start your own social media app?!”
Then Parler revealed the dirty trick, that even if you did go build your own social media app, the digital gatekeepers of the Deep State internet superhighway could still toss your ass off of it at any time for any reason.
But here we are just a few years later. We have learned what we can do. We have learned we are powerful. We can build our own institutions where they can’t control us or what we see or talk about. [Tracy: now they can’t censor us or watch us]
By banishing us, it turns out they did us all a huge favor and made us even more powerful and more organized.
We don’t need their old news media, their old social media apps, their old payment processors or old streaming services or old phone providers.
Out with old, in with the new.
They thought they could trap us and hem us in. Make us afraid to speak up, constantly looking over our shoulders, hesitating to speak the truth lest we be punished and silenced.
And failing in that, if we persisted in our truth-telling, that they could banish us into the wilderness. We’d be thrown into the outer darkness where we would impotently wail and gnash our teeth in futility forever.
But we’re the descendants of pioneers. Turning wildernesses into gardens is what Americans do. And we brought our own light with us.
WE are going to be fine.
THEY are the ones who are dying.
Their corrupted and foul institutions are beginning to crumble before our eyes.
The same fake news websites mocking Truth Social for the past 2 months are now gathered around the still-twitching corpse of a 3 week old CNN+, looking down in horror and starting to feel a cold premonition of their own approaching fate.
Nobody will pay money for their worthless propaganda. [Glenn Greenwald and the Intercept, Pierre Olymidyar].
Billionaires have been propping up many of these failing fake new media outlets. CNN’s new Discovery ownership obviously isn’t interested in bleeding away billions of dollars for a useless virtue-signaling streaming service.
The Trump Slump is real.
I read that Disney lost over 35 billion off it’s market cap because it decided to tell America’s parents to shut up and get out of the way because it’s perfectly fine for a public school teacher who’s salary is paid with their taxes to teach 3rd graders about anal sex and switching their genders.
[VA governors race and McAuliffe’s insane ‘get parents out of the classrooms’ narrative ]
Florida is the national test case for stopping this child grooming insanity so thank you, Ron DeSantis.
A major American institution dropped it’s mask and fully exposed it’s agenda for the kids to the country’s parents by insisting on stuffing it’s programming full of LGBTQ propaganda and fighting the Florida anti-grooming law by blatantly lying about it. “Don’t Say Gay”
And we’ve been observing with interest for over a week now what’s been happening with Elon Musk’s takeover bid of Twitter.
Rise And Meet Your Time
We live in a time of great societal flux. The boundaries are shifting. The lines are being redrawn. Old institutions are collapsing, new ones are rising.
Everyone wants to live in times of ever increasing prosperity and peace. But as a wise wizard tells the hero of epic fantasy tale, we don’t get to choose our own time. What we can do is choose how we face the challenges that become ours.
Frodo says “I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.”
In this time of great upheaval and change, speaking the truth to each other is more important than it has ever been. Some people get this massively wrong, that in times of great upheaval with deceit everywhere, this means they do or believe whatever they want.
This is the job of the new media journalist: informing the public with the truth about current events and issues so that we as a people can find our own way.
Self determination is a human right. Our founders understood that very well. And we need to remember it. 1776.
There are those who believe their great wealth gives them a right to choose our path for us, to spend billions of their stolen or illusory dollars to craft clever illusions to bewitch us into becoming their willing slaves, who will own nothing and be happy.
It is the job of the true journalist during this great rise of the new media to destroy every illusion that seeks to enslave the human mind.
And that is only done by speaking the truth.
Let this be the motto that the new media journalist holds fast to even as the world around us trembles and changes it shape:
“SPEAK THE TRUTH EVEN IF YOUR VOICE SHAKES.”
