Is Any of This Unconstitutional Lawfare Against Trump Ever Going To Pay Off?
Trump Is Supposed To Be Besieged In Court By Now; So What’s Gone Wrong?
It’s getting really HARD out there for corrupt prosecutors trying to send The Teflon Don, President Donald J. Trump himself, to prison for the rest of his life.
Recent news reports have Joe Biden increasingly angry and frustrated with both his Attorney General, Merrick Garland, and the Department of Justice over the fact that Trump is being allowed to defend himself against the rising tide of vicious and unconstitutional lawfare that Biden and his cronies have unleashed upon him.
The anonymous sources have Biden throwing a tantrum because he fully expected Trump to be on trial by now, and it just isn’t happening.
Biden is not alone in his frustration.
Plenty of people honestly thought they’d be relishing the spectacle of a nervous and distraught Trump trapped and besieged in several courtrooms by now as prosecutors confronted him with his many supposed crimes.
But that isn’t what’s happening.
Expectations were high when the new year began back in early January. Trump had multiple trials on tap, two managed by Special Counsel Jack Smith in Washington DC and Palm Beach, Florida. There were also several trials in New York involving civil defamation, bank fraud, and a criminal business fraud trial.
But the Big One for a lot of Trump haters was the looming trial in Fulton County, Georgia, the one where Trump and 18 codefendants are facing RICO criminal conspiracy charges and what amounts to life imprisonment if they are convicted.
But the lawfare script, so carefully and lovingly penned more than a year and a half ago, is not unfolding as it was written.
Many of those lawfare scriptwriters eagerly planning Trump’s long-awaited demise this year were also looking forward to an extended run of the ‘Ron DeSantis Campaign For President,’ but unfortunately, that show folded and had its final curtain come down last month. Now, DeSantis is a nominal Trump ally.
With Nikki Haley being the only remaining challenger in the race, the last fading hopes that Trump would face a real contest for the Republican Party’s nomination are gone.
That means the lawfare strategy is the only remaining realistic avenue by which Trump can be prevented from being on the ballot for this coming November’s presidential election.
And this lawfare strategy has been taking a beating in recent weeks.
New York, New York!
In New York City, the lawfare Trump faces has taken several unusual twists and turns.
First, Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg postponed Trump’s coming trial on business fraud allegations while the higher courts hashed out issues like Presidential immunity.
Bragg then found himself in the news again anyway when he decided to release without bail a bunch of illegal immigrants who’d been caught on video assaulting two police officers. The surveillance camera footage of the assault was bad enough and went viral, but then the police bodycam footage was released, and the scandal blew up again a week later. It was then discovered several of the immigrants had fled the city and were reportedly headed for California. [Authorities successfully apprehended them before they could reach their destination]
No one should be in all that much of a hurry for the Bragg trial anyway, what with the star witness being someone who’s already confessed to having committed perjury multiple times under oath. Yes, the already impeached-before-he-even-speaks star witness in the Bragg trial will be none other than former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen himself.
That’s a tough row to hoe when you think about it: a prosecutor deliberately proffering to the jury a key witness who, right after being put under oath, will have to ‘fess up to having lied under oath several times before.
Perhaps the Manhattan D.A.’s office relishes such challenges.
Just a week ago, the manifestly absurd E. Jean Carroll verdict had been headlining the news in New York City after a jury awarded her an $83.3 million judgment because Donald Trump had the nerve to claim he did not sexually assault her in a Bloomingdale’s changing room sometime back in the 1990s and that she was not telling the truth when she claimed that he did.
The supposed victim does not recall what year the alleged assault took place, an assault that just so happens to precisely match an episode of the TV crime drama ‘Law And Order: Special Victims Unit.’
The last trial Trump is being forced to sit through in New York City involves a case being heard by an eccentric and biased judge named Arthur Engoron, who has been thrilled at the national attention his court has gotten from this Trump case.
Two weeks ago the judge had everyone assemble in his courtroom two days in a row to eagerly await the announcement of the size of the fine he was about to hit The Bad Orange Man with. [It’s already been determined that Trump is guilty, you see. So the ‘trial’ is only being held to ascertain how large the fine will be for the banks giving Trump loans in which everyone made a profit]
After enjoying hours of building anticipation, Engoron then rug-pulled the assembled gallery and declared that he’d be issuing his decision sometime in the middle of February.
The silver lining here is that at least we have a general idea of when the ruling in the bank fraud case will be given. That’s not the case with either of the Jack Smith Special Counsel trials.
Jack Smith Strikes Out Twice
Jack Smith himself is the only person who can be blamed for why both Special Counsel cases targeting President Donald Trump are now trapped in limbo.
In the Washington, D.C. case that Smith brought against Trump for supposedly inciting and leading an insurrection at the US Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, everything is currently frozen in place as the Supreme Court has taken up this issue of whether or not Trump had presidential immunity for some of the actions he took that day.
As Julie Kelly has been reporting for months on Twitter/X, Smith let the presidential immunity issue sit unaddressed for months without dealing with it, and DC district Judge Tanya Chutkan allowed him to do it.
Once the issue was finally brought up, the DC Circuit Court of Appeals quickly ruled that Trump had no immunity for any of his actions on January 6. This led to an immediate appeal to the Supreme Court, where the issue now sits as both trials, the one in DC and the one in Palm Beach, Florida, are suspended in limbo until the Court makes its ruling.
And there’s really no telling when that will happen.
The Lawfare Fiasco In Georgia
Just when it seemed that the massive scandal that erupted in Fulton County, Georgia a few weeks back couldn’t get any more farcical…it does.
Not only did Fani Willis hire her lover Nathan Wade to be the lead counsel investigating Trump & his 18 codefendants in the absurd RICO case she filed, it now appears she managed to top having done that and lying to the court when her perfidy was exposed.
As I detailed in my last column, Willis was apparently sharing what was supposed to be sealed and secret grand jury evidence with two news media reporters, Michael Isikoff and Daniel Klaidman.
The judge presiding over the case has now ruled that there’s enough evidence to hold a hearing on Thursday, February 15, to determine whether or not Willis and Wade should be disqualified from the case.
This is a stunning reversal of fortune. Instead of Willis making Trump sweat in the courtroom as the walls close in on him, noble public servants making history by playing a key role in locking up the evil Orange Bad Man? Apparently, we’re about to spend the next few weeks watching Willis and Wade and others involved in this absolute farce frantically trying to keep from being tossed off the case and sinking down with a scream back into a well-deserved obscurity.
“There’s many a slip betwixt the cup and the lip” the old proverb goes, and that’s certainly true of what we’ve been watching these past few weeks.
How did it all go so wrong? This lawfare script probably looked like a sure thing on paper a year and a half ago when this movie was being written.
But when it comes to Trump, nothing is a sure thing. Except that you better not underestimate him.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around all these crimes Trump is to have allegedly committed.
J6 was a Nancy Pelosi production and the violence was at the hands of the govt. IMO somebody needs to get out the drill, tie Wray up and start pressuring him to reveal how many FBI and other govt agents were involved, otherwise he's going to be crippled.
Engoron looks like the mad professor from Robot Chicken. Kind of acts like him too. Trump, according to our Constitution is allowed to have a jury in this trial. Judges do not get to be the judge, jury and executioner. Where is the fraud?
Fani Fani Bohani is cooking her own goose. There was massive fraud in Georgia. I just watched a video on Vimeo by a company called Omega4America where they use a software called Fractal to determine how many 'anomalous' votes there were GA. Just substitute the word fraud for anomalous and you get the picture. I'll post the link here. It's 52 min long and it gives me hope for our elections.

Plus some software geek professor just proved in a Georgia court that votes could be changed in the machines just using a pencil.
And lastly Jack Smith's appointment by the DOJ - who has no authority to appoint a special counsel -is totally unconstitutional. I wrote to Ted Cruz, my senator and also on the judiciary committee, asking why they let the Department of Injustice do things that are unconstitutional when they could stop it right now just by taking back their power. I do not expect a real answer. I will not be voting for Cruz come this next election.

I'm sick of the corruption and lack of accountability. Thank you Brian for giving me a place to vent.
